JOB PURPOSE
To provide a professional HR service for all employees in Germany. This role must effectively work across all disciplines providing a broad and comprehensive HR service within corporate policy guidelines. As an HR Leader and Business Partner and managing a team of 3 HR professionals in Germany, influencing managers, driving organisational development and business improvements will be key responsibilities.
Reporting to Europe HR Director, and in collaboration with COEs and Global HRBPs, main accountabilities will be:
1. Labor Relations, Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure full compliance with current employment legislation and best HR practices within Germany. Manage Works Council and employee relations, addressing issues and support local leaders fostering a positive work environment.
2. Business Partnering: Fulfil HR Business Partner responsibilities (directly or through local HRBPs) by working closely with local Leaders on organizational development, performance, engagement, and Bus. Objectives achieving KPI targets. Advise and influence local managers across all entities on HR and business objectives.
3. HR Leadership and Management: Provide leadership and professional development support to the HR team members in Germany. Lead by example, promoting and embodying our company culture in all activities. Develop and implement leadership development programs to ensure a strong pipeline of future leaders. Provide coaching and mentoring to emerging leaders within the organization to enhance their skills and readiness for higher responsibilities.
4. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Oversee all aspects of recruitment, ensuring a consistent high standard in hiring processes and partnering with Talent Acquisition to implement effective recruitment solutions.
5. Performance Management: Support performance management processes, including continuous performance management, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and coaching.
6. Talent, Training and Development: Implement and oversee training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth. Work with global COEs and HR colleagues to ensure that development initiatives align with overall business objectives.
7. Compensation and Benefits: Manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance. Proactively manage key benefit activities such as company car providers and other employee benefits.
8. HR Processes and Systems: Ensure the proper rollout and maintenance of HR processes and systems within the assigned sites. Oversee processes and ensure data accuracy in HR systems.
9. Global HR Coordination: Support the Europe Head of HR in delivering global HR objectives and cascading them to local sites. Collaborate with global HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to ensure local alignment with global business objectives.
10. Payroll and Audit Compliance: Oversee payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing in compliance with SOX and audit controls. Identify areas for improvement in payroll accuracy and efficiency. Maintain and update the company’s HR procedures and ensure that they are disseminated, understood, and applied consistently across functions/departments/sites.
11. Corporate Initiatives and Engagement: Advocate for corporate initiatives including safety, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), charity, and employee engagement. Maintain and update HR procedures, ensuring consistent application across all sites.
12. Coordination of General Services: Oversee the coordination of general services such as reception or HSE ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality service delivery across all facilities.
13. Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development support to the 3 members of HR team in Germany ensuring that site level service delivery is of the highest standard and that Germany policies & procedures are fit for purpose and reflective of current trends in best practice and changes in Germany employment law.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 5-7 years’ experience in HR management within a multinational organization with manufacturing sites.
- Strong knowledge of German employment laws and regulations.
- Change management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with global and local HR teams.
- Proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors is a plus.
- Ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
