Frontend/Mobile Developer (React / React Native) at Charité spin-off (freelancer)
motus med is a Charité-based digital health project currently supported by the BIH Digital Health Accelerator and preparing for spin-off. We are transforming epilepsy diagnosis through an AI-powered, device-agnostic video analysis platform.
We are now looking for a freelance Frontend/Mobile Developer (React / React Native) to help scale and secure our clinical platform.
What we are building
motus med enables fast, accurate analysis of suspected seizures using video recordings. The platform is being piloted in clinical settings and aims to integrate directly into hospital IT systems.
We are entering an intensive development phase from June to December 2025, with major milestones including:
- Code takeover and refinement of our React/React Native frontend and mobile apps
- Feature expansion and bug fixing based on early clinical feedback
- External camera integration for continuous monitoring
- Seamless report export and hospital IT integration (FHIR, structured reports)
You’ll work closely with a small but ambitious team including PD Dr. Christian Meisel (lead of the Computational Neurology working group at BIH@Charité and senior physician in the Neurology department, our very experienced software development and commercial leads, and your frontend/mobile counterpart.
Your role
- Take over and refine our existing frontend and mobile codebase (React, React Native)
- Build intuitive workflows for physicians and patients
- Implement new features based on clinical feedback
- Integrate external camera support into both frontend and app
- Develop report export interfaces for hospital systems (FHIR/PDF)
- Ensure stable performance and user-friendly design for everyday clinical use
Your profile
- Proven experience in React and React Native (web and mobile development)
- Strong grasp of UX/UI best practices, especially for healthcare or regulated environments
- Ability to work independently and iterate quickly based on real-world feedback
- A pragmatic mindset with a focus on clean, reliable, and compliant implementation
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR), CE/MDR frameworks, and accessibility standards is a plus
