Job Overview
Project Controls Specialist tracks performance of specific projects as directed by Project Controls Supervisor and provide support to PMO resources involved with the project. Report any problems with the project, help ensure the project schedule and budget match the objectives of the project, and otherwise ensure operations conform to the plan.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in project controls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to multi-task in a high paced project environment
- Good critical thinking skills, strategic thinking skills, and math skills
- Ability to work equally well with internal and external team members
- Skilled in all aspects of communication (writing, listening, speaking)
- Ability to read and understand procurement documents and have general accounting knowledge
- Able to work in a schedule driven environment as timing is a critical function of the position
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Participate in the execution of strategy by support in planning, governing, and managing projects throughout the project management lifecycle in compliance with the project contract requirements i.e., project schedule, cost, company standards and procedures.
- Responsible for entering historical information into company’s database system provided by Procurement manager assure accuracy.
- Record all material/service requirements (RFQ/P) received after completion from the Sourcing department.
- Work with key members of the project team to ensure tasks are archived correctly in database
- Trustworthy with confidential corporate information.
- Review received project pricing for accuracies and address any potential issues with the PM/DPM
- Work in accordance with the procedures and policy of the company.
- Must have harmonious and productive relationships with other internal departments – Sourcing, Sales, Operations and Finance & Administration
- Performs other related duties as assigned
