About Us
We are Craftcloud, an online marketplace for advanced manufacturing services. We help customers get custom parts made by connecting them with a global network of vetted manufacturing partners. Our platform supports a range of production technologies, including 3D printing, CNC machining, and injection molding; - think Booking.com for manufacturing. Our goal is to help customers cut costs and find the right manufacturer for their production needs, ensuring satisfaction every step of the way.
On the backend, we're solving complex logistical and technical challenges: real-time quoting, order routing, supplier integration, and automated quality checks—just to name a few. Our team is small, pragmatic, and collaborative. We care about team collaboration, clear communication, and building software that makes a real impact on how things get made.
Our company consists of two complementary products, Craftcloud and All3DP.com, and together we make up a multinational team of 25 employees, with our core customer segments located in North America, Europe and Asia. We are working in agile, transparent teams with flat hierarchies. Our goal is to develop entrepreneurial and fact-based solutions and grow together with our customers and partners worldwide.
Now, we are looking for an experienced back end developer to help actively shape our growth!
What You’ll Work On
At Craftcloud, backend development touches both sides of a real-world marketplace:
- On the customer-facing side, you’ll help build features for quoting, order placement, model management, and tracking, delivering a smooth experience to hundreds of thousands of users.
- On the partner-facing side, you'll shape tools and APIs that let our manufacturing partners manage pricing, orders, and production.
- And internally, you'll build tooling for our operations and support teams that aims to make our processes faster, smoother, and more automated.
We use a service-based architecture running on AWS (Lambda, Fargate, ElastiCache, S3 and more), described entirely in Terraform and deployed via GitHub Actions.
You'll work closely with our product manager and operations team: no silos, no hand-offs.
We keep our development process lean and lightweight and steer clear of endless meetings or ceremonies.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of backend experience with Node.js (TypeScript/JavaScript)
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and data modeling using PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB
- Familiarity with AWS (especially ECS/Fargate, Lambda, ALB, S3)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform is a plus)
- Comfort with modern dev workflows: CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews (we use GitHub Actions)
- A product-minded approach: you care about how things work for users, not just how they’re built
- You enjoy focused work and thrive in a low-meeting, high-ownership environment
- Bonus: Experience with NestJS, event-driven systems, or monitoring and observability tooling (e.g. Sentry, Grafana)
- Strong communication skills and a natural comfortability in sharing ideas and giving feedback
- A collaborative mindset and working closely with the team is natural part of how you get things done
- You’re comfortable working in a bilingual environment where English is essential, and German is a strong plus
- You value team success over individual ego.
