The Department of Medicine, Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, is seeking to fill a full-time, externally funded position at the earliest possible date, limited until 15.11.2027, as a
computer scientist
to be filled. Depending on qualifications and fulfillment of the requirements of the collective agreement, the position will be graded up to pay group 13 of the collective agreement of the state of Hesse. Many years of professional experience is also required for pay group 13. If this is not available, recruitment in a lower pay group will be possible.
The PROGRESS project (Regional Support Services for Effective Treatment and Care) is developing an AI-based regional care structure for post-COVID patients at Marburg University Hospital. The core elements are a digital triage algorithm, standardized diagnostics and a telemetric aftercare concept. The aim is to improve patient care through early diagnosis, personalized therapy and efficient aftercare. The project is affiliated with the newly founded Centre for Postinfectious Syndromes (CEPIS) and links the university hospital, doctors in private practice and patient organizations.
Your Tasks
- Development and implementation of AI-based algorithms for patient stratification and analysis of clinical data and biomarkers
- Coordination with the UKGM Data Integration Center and the Department of Informatics
- Management of the digital infrastructure and quality assurance of the PROGRESS algorithm
- Support with evaluations, publication of results and further development of the care concept as well as general scientific services in research and teaching
- Support in establishing a framework for data exchange in accordance with FAIR principles

Your Profile
- Degree (B.Sc., M.Sc. or comparable) in computer science, medical informatics, data science, computer science or comparable
- Many years of professional experience in the fields of computer science and data science
- Basic knowledge of Python, data science and machine learning is desirable
- Experience in working with medical databases and statistical software
- Willingness to deal with regulatory requirements (MDR)
- Experience in working in interdisciplinary teams
