Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our finance team. The accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and legal regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting processes, and proficiency in accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Month-End Close: Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations are completed timely and in compliance
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, payments, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations; prepare and submit tax returns and handle any related correspondence.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Audit: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation and explanations.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor and manage expense reports, ensuring that all spending aligns with the company’s financial policies.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct regular financial analysis to assist management in decision-making.
- Ad hoc Reporting: Generate special financial reports as required by management or stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance.
Technical Skills:
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Strong knowledge of Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
