Your mission
At sewts we automate what others can’t. Gripping of deformable materials like textiles is a task most humans see as intuitive and simple. However, this is a complicated task for robots as they lack the detailed and contextual understanding of where and with what level of sensitivity to handle these textiles. As deep-tech enthusiasts, we teach robots human-like perception skills.
We are building a foundational technology stack called sewts.JUPITER. JUPITER uses genAI to simulate realistically the behavior of deformable & soft objects to create corresponding computer vision models and grabbing strategies. Based on our physical AI first time ever robots get enabled to handle soft & deformable materials. With over €10M in funding we will bring automation into all untapped industries, like cloth manufacturing, textiles handling, recycling & e-commerce.
You will make the difference! We have built a high-performance culture where efficient target achievement and consistent development is at the core of our company philosophy. We are working independently with ownership and a strong motivation to go the extra mile. We are setting our goals high, enjoying our daily challenges, while loving to share a laugh with our fellow team members. We are a diverse team, with many different nationalities, which values direct communication and open feedback.
You will be an integral part of our JUPITER Software Team, which is responsible for bringing a highly performant AI platform, specialised on deformable materials, to life. It runs in all our robotic products, which comprises a framework to train AI models, a middleware to run a configurable pipeline including AI models, computer vision algorithms on an edge device, and a user interface for configuration, calibration, and monitoring.
As our new AI Developer (m/f/d), you are knowledgeable in designing automated AI training pipelines for computer vision applications. It is your mission to ensure low prediction failure rates under high generalization performance, as well as establishing standards for our AI Developers in model training, experiment tracking and artifact generation. As an AI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our AI training services both in the cloud and on premises.
How You Will Create An Impact
- You develop software in Python with a focus on deep learning applications in robotic driven computer vision.
- You Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for ML training workflows in the cloud.
- You manage experiment tracking and automated training pipelines.
- Monitor trained model performance, set up automated hyperparameter searches and implement new features in the training stack.
- You collaborate with other engineers on topics like MLOps and data engineering.
- You take an actively collaborating role with other AI Developers.
- You actively contribute to our Scrum team and work closely with other members in the AI & Simulation Team.
Your Working Environment
- An international, dynamic team with flat hierarchies and direct communication;
- We live a performance culture in which we promote continuous learning and personal development;
- You will have the opportunity to work directly with our Head of Software and play an active role in shaping a pioneering field of technology.
Your profile
- 2-4 years work experience (computer vision applications (object detection, classification), vision language models (scene understanding));
- You are communicative, like to share your knowledge to advance the whole team, and always keep the overview even in challenging problems;
- You speak fluent English.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience with software development in Python (confident in working with paradigms like OOD, TDD);
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting;
- 2 years of experience with machine learning algorithms (Pytorch language preferred) and tools (ClearML, GCP VMs), deep learning and computer vision applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in productionizing machine learning solutions.
- Experience working in an industry or academic research lab, training and producing AI artifacts to be used in production
Nice to have:
- First contact with Vision Language Models, Scene Understanding;
- First contact with PTQ and TensorRT optimization.
Why us?
