About you: We are looking for a motivated candidate to join our team for 3-6 months, with the potential to transition into a full-time role. In this position, you will focus on building and maintaining applications using TypeScript, Node.js, Express.js, and Material UI, while deploying on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and integrating with Graph databases. This is a great opportunity for someone starting their career in software development to gain hands-on experience with modern web technologies and graph databases in a dynamic, real-world setting.
About Blockwall: Blockwall is a Frankfurt-based venture capital firm specializing in Web3 and decentralized technology investments. Founded in 2017, the company focuses on early-stage opportunities, particularly at the pre-seed and seed stages. The firm employs a data-driven, thesis-based investing approach, utilizing advanced analytics and technology to enhance investment decisions and operations. This strategy allows Blockwall to make more informed, evidence-based investment choices, moving beyond the traditional reliance on intuition and personal networks to cover the market more comprehensively and track startup progress more effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement project requirements.
- Assist in developing and maintaining web applications
- Write clean and efficient code in TypeScript.
- Contribute to the creation of responsive user interfaces using Material UI.
- Learn and apply RESTful API design principles.
- Assist in deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Gain experience working with graph databases for data modeling and querying.
- Help with bug fixing and troubleshooting.
Required Skills:
- Basic proficiency in TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Node.js and Express.js for backend development.
- Basic understanding of frontend development and experience with Material UI.
- Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git.
- Willingness to learn and work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Basic understanding of database concepts, including graph databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or full-stack development experience.
- Experience with Typescript and Graph databases
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and eagerness to learn new technologies.
