We are an internationally oriented team based in Kassel (Germany), and we are currently accepting applications for an Insect Neuroscientist to join us at the earliest mutually convenient time.
Essential qualifications & experience
- PhD in Biology, Neuroscience, Entomology, or related field (completed or near completion)
- Strong foundation in neuroanatomy, ideally with a focus on insects
- Familiarity with experimental behavioural studies, ideally involving insects
Desirable knowledge & experience
- Previous work conducted on cockroaches
- Microsurgical techniques
- Pharmacological testing
- Basic knowledge of electronics
Key responsibilities
- Develop and test novel control strategies for insect-based biorobots
- Optimise the current methods, utilizing electrical signal stimulation and pharmacological modulation
- Collaborate across disciplines to integrate biological insights with technological design
