Summary
For the “Optarion SW Engineering” department, we are looking for a “Head of Department (f/m/d)” at the Immenstaad site as soon as possible.
The OPTARION® - Agile Release Train is responsible for the further development of a mission planning solution / fleet deployment planning for helicopters and airplanes. The main focus is on the upcoming change in development due to the current paradigm shift in the context of Software Defined Defense, among other things.
Your Tasks
- Disciplinary and technical management of subordinate employees
- Responsibility for the strategic direction of the department (including in the context of agile development)
- Preparation and determination of budget, personnel and resource planning
- Ensuring the planning and implementation of commissioned development projects and services
- Identifying and developing the skills required to fulfill the strategic direction
- Establishing and ensuring the sustainable and synergetic use of products and promoting innovation and continuous improvement
- Acquisition support and preparation of development offers
- Actively contributing to the implementation of overarching strategies (e.g. change management as part of the Software Defined Defense initiative)
- Ensuring successful cooperation with other development departments (in particular Optarion System Development), the program area and sales
Your Profile
- Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar
- Many years of experience in technical and disciplinary management
- Extensive experience in the planning and management of complex development projects
- Several years of practical experience in the agile development of complex software systems according to SAFe
- Experience in the preparation of development offers and cost estimates
- Extensive experience in accompanying organizational and technological changes
- Ability to deal with conflict and strong communication and organizational skills
- Fluency in German and English
