Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on and analytical Investment Associate to join our Munich-based team. This role offers full exposure to the investment process — from deal origination to execution and post-acquisition value creation — with a focus on founder-led and entrepreneur-driven software and technology companies in the small to mid-cap space.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate investment opportunities in software, SaaS, and tech-enabled business models
- Perform detailed financial modelling, valuation (DCF, LBO), and commercial analysis to assess investment cases
- Prepare investment memos and materials for internal committees and external stakeholders
- Drive and coordinate due diligence workstreams (financial, legal, tax, technical, etc.)
- Support transaction structuring, negotiations, and documentation in close collaboration with legal and external advisors
- Work with portfolio company management teams on strategic initiatives, KPI tracking, and board reporting
- Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, advisors, intermediaries, and sector specialists
Candidate Profile
- 4–6 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting, or transaction advisory with exposure to technology or software
- Strong analytical and modelling skills with excellent commercial judgment
- Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in working with founder-led businesses
- Hands-on attitude and willingness to take ownership in a lean, dynamic team
- Fluent in German and English (both required)
- Prior experience with small to mid-cap transactions is a plus
- Degree from a top-tier university in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or a related field
