Job Overview:
As the International HR Leader for the CE region, you will be responsible for driving the HR strategy, operations, and integration efforts of all MBT Climate entities in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Czech and Poland. You will partner with business leaders to align HR initiatives with Midea’s global strategy while ensuring that the needs of the countries are met. Local HR teams in these countries report directly to you. This role requires a strategic, results-driven HR leader with strong operational and cultural integration experience, as well as the ability to lead a diverse team and foster an inclusive, high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HR Strategy & Operations
- Lead HR strategy for the CE region, ensuring alignment with Midea’s Building Technology’s global HR objectives and local business needs.
- Oversee HR operations across the CE region, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, and compliance.
- Partner with the leadership team to define the HR roadmap and support business transformation in the CE region, particularly post-acquisition.
2. Cultural Integration & Change Management
- Lead cultural integration efforts, ensuring that the acquired company’s culture is harmonized with Midea’s organizational culture.
- Promote and drive change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions and alignment during the integration process.
- Act as a cultural ambassador to bridge differences, encourage collaboration, and foster a unified company culture across the region.
3. Leadership & Talent Development
- Develop leadership programs that align with Midea’s leadership expectations and drive business success.
- Drive talent management initiatives, including succession planning, leadership development, and high-potential employee identification, tailored to the CE region.
- Ensure that the CE region has a strong pipeline of talent to meet both short-term needs and long-term business objectives.
4. Employee Engagement & Well-being
- Foster a high-engagement culture by implementing employee engagement programs and regularly assessing employee satisfaction and well-being.
- Collaborate with leaders to design and implement well-being programs that support a positive employee experience and work-life balance.
- Act as a trusted HR business partner, providing guidance and support to employees and managers regarding HR matters, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
5. Compliance & Legal Requirements
- Ensure that all HR practices comply with local labor laws and regulations in the CE region, and are consistent with Midea’s global HR policies.
- Keep abreast of changes in labor laws and HR practices in the CE region and advise leadership on necessary adjustments.
6. HR Reporting & Metrics
- Define, track, and report on key HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives in the CE region.
- Use data and insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement in HR practices.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- At least 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within the DACH region or international environments.
- Proven experience managing HR operations and strategy in multinational companies.
- Experience in cultural integration and change management during post-acquisition phases.
- Ideally experience with HR operations and strategy during post merger integration.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of HR functions (e.g., talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits).
- Deep knowledge of international HR practices and regulations, with special focus on DACH labor laws and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead by example and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English and German.
- High degree of emotional intelligence and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment.
