Program manager vs. Project Manager
The Program Manager will be responsible for creating comprehensive project plans for each stage of development and closely monitoring the overall schedule to ensure a seamless process. They will also oversee budget and costs, conduct customer and internal APQP meetings, and collaborate with various departments within the company.
Responsibilities
- Planning, managing, and overseeing electromechanical and power electronic products through development stages
- Working with business stakeholders to understand program requirements
- Creating detailed plans for each product development stage
- Tracking development/project timing
- Troubleshooting and resolving customer queries and problems
- Reviewing overall schedule to ensure process runs smoothly
- Reporting product development progress to senior staff members
- Acting as a liaison between customer, product development team, and manufacturing team
Qualifications
Bachelor's/master’s degree in engineering (preferably Electronics, Electrical, or Systems)
Required Skills
- Automotive experience and international project management, at least 3-5 years
- Fluent in German and English
- Deep understanding of product development processes and individual stages
- Experience with electromechanical and power electronic projects
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
