Our Customer is a major European operator in the electricity market for almost Eighty years, active in wind and solar power production, with a total installed capacity of more than 2,700 MW.
We are currently looking for a:
CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
Directly reporting to the Head of Construction Europe.
Responsibilities and expertise the project manager shall bring to the company include:
● Coordinate and monitor construction phase of the projects from start to finish
● Establish clear lines of communication and ensuring that all projects team members, contractors and consultants are working towards achieving the projects goals and objectives
● Manage teams of internal resources, contractors, and consultants to achieve projects targets
● Ensure that contractors are performing and providing deliverables as per the construction contracts
● Oversee and review works designs to ensure requirements are being met
● Manage and control construction projects budgets and provide cash flow forecasting
● Monitor contractors QA/QC processes and overall quality
● Manage and mitigate both internal and external risks within the project’s construction phase
● Manage proactively assets’ grid connection
● Report on work progress, budget status, and schedule status on a weekly & monthly basis
● Travel on site biweekly or more often if needed to review progress/schedule, meet contractors and resolve issues/questions
● Provide technical and other support for production of RFPs
● Provide support for construction contracts negotiations
● Perform due diligence tasks on new project opportunities
Studies: Engineering degree (Electrical, civil or mechanical) or equivalent.
Work Experience:
●experience in construction project management (possibly wind farm/ PV plant ) in Germany, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
● Strong knowledge of safety regulations; grid utilities & planning authorities’ requirements in the German context would be a plus.
● Demonstrated proficiency in managing the electrical interfaces (OEM/BOP/GRID) between parties is an advantage.
Languages: German speaker, English fluent
Location: Hamburg or Kassel (Germany)
Frequent travels on site to the construction project sites located in Germany and other European countries and to the headquarter in Genoa (Italy) are required
IT Skills:
● Deep knowledge of all Microsoft Applications, CAD and SAP
● Expert on MS Project, Primavera and/or other Project Mgmt application
